I cannot believe that we've already reached 2010! Greeting 2000 seems as if it were just yesterday, but it's really been 10 years.
Dave and I celebrated New Year's by going to our favorite restaurant on New Year's Eve: Texas Roadhouse. It's become a New Year's Eve tradition, and, boy, is it a yummy one! We thought we'd beat the crowds by going before 5, but there was barely enough room to stand as we waited for our table that night. The warm rolls, steak, and mashed potatoes were certainly worth the wait. Once we got home from our delicious meal, we settled in to watch Stranger Than Fiction. It was so different from any other movie we'd seen, and we both really enjoyed it. We managed to stay up for midnight this year, too. Yay!
On New Year's Day, we hung out at my parents' house along with my aunt and uncle. A Big 10 team won the Rose Bowl! I was pretty excited about that, even though it was Ohio State who'd won. Sometimes you just need to root for your conference and put your team loyalties aside. (M Go Blue!)
Our month of no eating out is going well so far, now that we're almost done with the 3rd day. Haha! It's funny how much we're craving food from restaurants we really never think of otherwise. I suppose it's all a part of not being able to have it at all that makes it so tempting. I hope to post more about our experiment and some other fun plans we have for the new year.
