Our First Burns Supper

The Illinois St. Andrew Society holds an annual Burns Supper, and thanks to some family friends, we were able to obtain free tickets to attend last Saturday night. The night was filled with haggis eating, toasting, and ceilidh dancing. We had a great time.

Dave with the American version of haggis. It tasted like meatloaf with a punch of spices.

There was so much food that I couldn't eat it all. Notice how the neeps were left untouched. ;-)

Laura and I have known each other since we were babies--and now she has a "baby" of her own, two-year-old Andrew. Her parents got the tickets for us. Thanks, Dr. Tim and Auntie Cathy!

It was fun to see Dave enjoying his haggis immensely!
It was also fun to see pics of Erin, Laura, and Andrew!
We are so happy you could go to this "American" taste of Scotland!
